Tonight and Friday Night(February 29th & March 1st) is the Production of Hollywood Heroes put on by the Windom Area Middle School 6th thru 8th Graders. Performances are in the lecture hall at the Middle School/High School and start at 7pm. Co-Directors of this performance are Jackie Jurgens and Dana Wallace. According to Jurgens, the play itself is a program that she put together some years ago for a 4-H Arts-In Program and decided to resurrect it. Jurgens went on to say she loves music and still had the CD with the Hollywood Heroes music on it AND still had a lot of the choreography in her head – so she thought, why not do something different and in a different way ,so a mini-musical was born! There are approximately 20 kids on stage and we have lights, make up and student directors. The synopsis is a show about saluting Hollywood Heroes from the past such as: Popeye, Zorro, Batman, Charlie’s Angels, Mission Impossible, Men in Black, Scooby Doo, Ghostbusters, Star Wars & Live and Let Die. Jurgens invites the public to come enjoy the efforts of her students. Tickets are $5 each with preschoolers being free. It is a shorter show that even the young children should enjoy the music and dancing. Jurgens concluded that it is rewarding to see a different side of the students as they perform, take leadership roles and just enjoy the teamwork. TONIGHT and FRIDAY NIGHT at 7pm.

Motorists are advised to use caution on Highway 4 between Sherburn and Trimont starting Tuesday, March 5 as workers begin removing trees in preparation for construction, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Motorists should expect shoulder closures and watch for flaggers until the completion of the tree clearing work in late March. Drivers should remove distractions and be aware of workers in the area.
By law, the trees need to be removed early in the year to prevent protected bats from making their homes in the trees.
The tree removal is preliminary work for the Highway 4 construction project from Sherburn to St. James. The project includes roadway, bridge, and drainage improvements. In addition to resurfacing approximately 25 miles of roadway, the bridge over Cedar Run will be replaced and multiple bridges will be repaired. Pedestrian accommodation in the cities of Sherburn and Trimont will also be improved.
Construction for the project is anticipated to start in May and continue until late August, weather permitting.
