Deputies conducted 5 Civil Processes, had 2 driving complaints, served 2 warrants and had 9 traffic calls. Windom Police Department reported on the 25th an officer was advised a party wanted to report damage done to his vehicle last week. A 2021 Ford F-150 had a long scrape as if it had been keyed on the passenger side door and the front antenna was also bent on the passenger side of the vehicle. Officers covered a two vehicle accident at the intersection of 3rd Ave and 7th Street in Windom at approximately 12:05pm. A 2013 Kia Soul was driven by 16 year old male from Windom was traveling east and had a yield sign. He stated he did not see the 2016 Buick Envision that was traveling north due to fogged up windows. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and the driver was taken by ambulance to Windom Area Emergency Room. On the 26th at 1:16am an officer was on patrol on Highway 60 near the intersection of North Highway 71. The officer observed a vehicle traveling next to him not displaying the current registration. After initiating a traffic stop, the officer approached the vehicle and spoke to the driver. The officer could smell a strong and obvious odor of alcoholic beverage. After investigation, charges pending on four Windom residents for Underage Consumption. 2 males and 2 females ages between 18 and 20. On the 27th at 12:48pm, officers handled a two vehicle minor accident with no injuries and minor damage in the Windom School Parking Lot.

The Cottonwood County Historical Society is inviting the public to attend the “Festival of Trees” exhibit from December 1st to the 23rd. Trees are beautifully decorated by individuals, organizations, churches and businesses in the Remick Gallery. Grab your friends and family and don’t forget to vote for your favorite tree.
