Windom Police Department reported on the 25th at approximately at 10:16am an officer was dispatched to a hit and run accident in the 600 block of Drake Ave involving a pickup truck owned by a Windom Resident. After investigation a 31-year-old male of Bingham Lake was arrested for suspicion of DWI which he refused to submit to a chemical test of blood or urine. The Bingham Lake male was charged with Felony 1st Degree DWI Refusal to Submit to Chemical Test and Driving after Cancellation-Inimical to Public Safety.

The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office reported on the 24th a deputy was dispatched to a vehicle vs building at the Post Office in Walnut Grove. Witnesses said they observed a Ford Edge traveling westbound on Main Street then turning into a parking spot in front of the post office. The Ford Edge jumped the curb and ran into the building. Neither of the two occupants received any serious injuries.

Cottonwood County Board of Commissioners work session meeting on Thursday August 31st has been cancelled. The next Cottonwood County Commissioners meeting will be September 6th.

The Windom Area Chamber of Commerce fiscal year is coming to a close in September and the Chamber Director and the Board of Directors are looking for your input. Windom Chamber of Commerce Director Emily Cenzano, explained what they are looking for

Emily went onto say that planning never stops just because an event ends. Riverfest is a prime example of an event that is a continuous planning process. Emily talked about early planning and volunteers for Riverfest.
