There’s fun for the whole family at the Murray County Classic Draft Horse Show this weekend at the Murray County Fairgrounds in Slayton. Events start tonight with the six-horse hitch first class at 7:30pm. Gates open at 9am Saturday with the farm team parade and driving skill classes at 10am, and the classic series six horse hitch starts at 2pm. More activities continue Sunday with the classic series Six Horse Hitch at 12:30pm. Admission to the Murray County Classic Draft Horse Show is $7 and free for kids 10 and under.
The Windom Cultural Integrative Collaborative are having an Immigrant Wellness Day on Saturday, July 15th at the American Lutheran Church, 906 Prospect Ave, Windom, MN 56101 from 12pm-5pm. Those workshops will include budget and financing to answer common questions and you’ll create a budget to help get you through hard times, stress management to help you develop healthy coping skills that can help during times of high stress, housing assistance to help you learn about rental and housing assistance resources and provide you help in filling out those applications, a community listening session where you can share your story and thoughts that will be used to improve the health of the community and help the community better meet the needs of immigrant workers and their families, and a gentle movement session that can help you relax your body and mind.
All participants must register to attend, and 100 participants will receive a $100 grocery store gift card provided by CLUES.
All dogs and friendly people are welcome to the Lisa Holt Memorial Dog Walk Saturday, July 8th at 10am at the Windom Dog Park at Island Park. During the dog walk, they’ll have the dedication of play equipment, the blessing of the animals, plus door prizes, pet items for sale, water available for both dogs and humans, and a free will offering with donations going to CCAR and Shelby Woizeschke’s sons William and Charles.

On Wednesday, July 5th at approximately 3:11pm, the Minnesota State Patrol reports a two-vehicle accident happened in Cottonwood County at the intersection of Highway 30 and Highway 71. One vehicle was traveling west on Highway 30 while the other vehicle was driving north on Highway 71 when the vehicles collided in the intersection.
