Striking Out Cancer is having their 2nd annual event on Wednesday July 12th, 2023, at Island Park in Windom. Striking Our Cancer is what used to be known at Relay for Life, with a few similarities like a meal, survivor recognition and celebration, but instead of walking a path with luminaries, attendees with go to a baseball game between the Windom Pirates and the Mountain Lake lakers that night. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office received a call on July 3rd, 2023, at approximately 11:43pm of shots fired at residents in rural Truman with 4 people injured.
