During the Economic Development Authority of Windom meeting on Monday, the EDA gave an update about Hylife Foods in Windom. As of last Friday, the new owners, Premium Iowa Pork LLC, have taken official ownership of the Windom Hylife facility. Right now, the EDA of Windom doesn’t know what Premium Iowa Pork’s plans are for the facility, but Lamb says the EDA is cautiously optimistic that the facility will be reopened under the Premium Iowa Pork brand.

The Des Moines Valley Health and Human Services are having their board meeting on Thursday, June 15th at 9am in the Jackson County Government West Conference Room. On the agenda is receiving fiscal, public health, human services, administrative services, and executive reports, committee and board reports, and approve other agenda items.
The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office released the following report concerning a car chase on the 10th at approximately 5:10pm. The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a stolen white GMC Yukon traveling southeast on MN Highway 67 from Redwood Falls. Deputies located the Yukon and attempted to stop the vehicle which then led to a vehicle pursuit. The Yukon was eventually stopped near the intersection of Omega Ave and 320th St. The driver, a 20-year-old male from Westbrook was arrested without incident and brought to the Redwood County Jail. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Redwood Falls Police department and Lower Sioux Police Department.
