It’s my last day of giving you my interpretation of the News… I know that I am not the most conventional newsperson and I may be a little “featurey” for some of you, but it has been so much fun being the news guy for going on almost two years now. I know that Justin will have a different approach to reporting the news BUT I promise he will bring you, the what’s, the how’s, and even the why’s of the happenings in our communities. His voice may be lower and he may pronounce words a bit differently than I do, but I believe he will win over your loyalty in a short period of time. So remember to give a little grace and understanding for the new guy in a new community that has proclaimed will be his permanent forever home… He is officially one of us. Oh and don’t you worry, I’m still going to be around, and I still want to know what is going on in your minds and hearts… AND I am STILL trying to figure out HOW IN WORLD, I am going to get what’s on my mind into your ears!!!! I guarantee you haven’t heard the last of me. Also did you know today is National Donut Day? I know right… that heavenly best loved fried dough confection… I’ll bet you didn’t know that it is the favorite treat of Homer Simpson, Barack Obama, most law enforcement agents and almost ANY person that has worked or is working in Radio… JUST SO HARD TO RESIST!!! I can’t wait to call everyone BUBBA today too! Did you know there are more than 50 million people in the world who are referred to as Bubba and yep TODAY is also National Bubba Day… Go get a donut and say Hey Bubba you want a donut??? After all it is according to research a nickname or pet name given to someone as a term of endearment. My last contemplation is I truly thought this event was an every day thing from the movement of our staff… June 2nd is National Leave the Office Early Day… hmmm… I am betting… no I guarantee our staff here at KDOM were in on making this an National Holiday.
Thanks all for making being your News guy a great experience and showing my folks that my college years obtaining that degree in Telecommunications and Journalism really wasn’t a total waste of money!!! That’ll be a discussion for another day! June 2nd– make it a great day by eating a donut, calling everyone Bubba and leaving work early to enjoy the start of summer!!!
