Windom Police Department were dispatched to a possible drunk driver who was driving on the wrong side of the road on 14th Street in Windom on the 20th at approximately 5:10pm. The officer located the suspect vehicle in the drive through at Dairy Queen. The vehicle pulled out on to Highway 60 almost striking a blue pickup truck causing the other vehicle to swerve out of the way. Both vehicles pulled over and officer initiated overhead emergency lights. After investigating and traffic stop, charges are pending on a 68-year-old Windom Male for Gross Misdemeanor DWI. On the 21st at 1:39am an officer was called to the 1000 block of 3rd Ave to take a report of a theft/burglary. A Windom Male reported that while napping from 6pm until 1am, he went outside and found his back hatch on his vehicle wide open as well as the glovebox inside. Take was $100 in groceries, suitcase of documents, and some tools taken from the back of the vehicle. This matter remains under investigation.

Jackson County Sheriff’s Department on the 19th assisted Jackson Ambulance with a medical call, transferred a report of an injured eagle in a field to the Minnesota DNR, received a report of an Unemployment scam and transferred a 911 report of a possible intoxicated driver near the Cottonwood/Jackson county line north of Bergen.  Cottonwood County deputies located the vehicle in their county.

On the 20th at 12:30am a deputy conducted a traffic stop in Jackson.  After investigating, both the driver and passenger were arrested.  The driver, a 33-year-old male from Rochester, was arrested for an active 5th Degree Controlled Substance Possession charge in Goodhue County.  He was later released to Goodhue County.  The passenger, a 26-year-old female from Worthington, was arrested for 2nd Degree Controlled Substance Possession and 5th Degree Controlled Substance Possession.  Two capped hypodermic needles and a plastic bottle with liquid inside it were seized.  The liquid, which tested positive for methamphetamine, weighed 31 grams. At 9:08am Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in Jackson.  After investigating, a 49-year-old male from Jackson was arrested for Domestic Assault. Deputies later in the morning responded to a dog at large and at approximately 1:30pm A deputy received a complaint of an older, rusty Dodge pickup that has been driving carelessly in/out of ditches in the Look Lake area.  The reporter said the same pickup was also doing the same thing in that area a few days ago.  Deputies at 3:35pm responded to a domestic disturbance in Delafield Township where after investigating, a 35-year-old male from rural Windom was arrested for Domestic Assault. Deputies issued a citation for speeding on White Street in Jackson, responded to another domestic disturbance in Jackson assisted the Heron Lake Ambulance with a medical call and at 11:49pm The Jackson County K-9 Unit assisted the Cottonwood County SO with a K-9 sniff.
