Next week is National Library Week April 23-29. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.. THE LIBRARY is, to me, one of the greatest places on earth. I remember the first Library card I ever got, I don’t remember the librarians name BUT I do remember her comment when she handed it to me… She told me that my life adventure had just begun! She told me with my card I could go anywhere and be anybody and do anything! EVERYTHING started at the library! She was absolutely right. I have traveled so many places and put myself in so many mysteries and learned all about so many different things all because I had and still hold my library card. When I was sick I could still escape to some far off land, when I had a project due for school it was the library that helped me through the research and answered the questions that my parents couldn’t. It was the library that I escaped to when I needed a quite place to unwind. Libraries today are even more than they were when I was growing up. They have computers and play areas and educational classes and programs. I love hearing my Sweet Henry tell me all about his trip to the library. His eyes light up and he tells me it is THE MOST SPECIAL PLACE… I just love his love of books and I love that the library is the ultimate adventure. If you haven’t been to your local library lately, GO!!!!! Thank the Librarian’s and the volunteers. Three cheers for Libraries they have lasted through the years and still are where you can escape and become anyone and do anything and learn just about everything you ever need to know.
