Tonight, is the night for the Windom Riverfest FIREWORKS. The display will be at the Windom Area Middle/High School and will start at 10pm.

Mountain Lake Police Department reported 15 calls in the past week. On June 5th an Officer checked on a suspicious vehicle downtown. It was ok and cleared. On the 4th at approximately 10:40pm a 45-year-old male was cited for loud music. An officer contacted a business owner at about 9pm for an open door that was found by an officer. During a traffic stop a 52-year-old male was cited for no insurance and an Officer checked on a group of vehicles and people at approximately 1:50am in Lawcon Park. The scene was cleared as all participants of the graduation party were over the age of 18.  On June 3rd a Mt Lake Officer assisted another agency with cattle on the loose at the intersection of County 8 and Mountain Park. A 35-year-old Male driver was cited for driving after suspension. Early evening an officer assisted motorist pulled over on the side of the roadway. At 12:58 am an Officer checked on a suspicious vehicle in Casey’s parking lot turns out the traveler was using Casey’s Wi-Fi and at 1:25am damage was discovered to a paper towel dispenser in the Mt Lake City Park. On June 2nd a 67-year-old male was cited for failure to move over for law enforcement. On May 31st at approximately 4:30pm a 54-year-old male was arrested and charged with criminal sexual conduct 3rd degree and at 11:27pm an officer responded to a burglary alarm. It turned out to be a false alarm, an employee had accidentally set it off. On May 30th at 12:14 am a Mt Lake Officer checked on two people at Lawcon Park everything was ok and at 10:25 an officer handled a dog at large call.

Red Rock Central School District Board of Education will be conducting a special meeting TODAY at 3pm in Lamberton.

Windom City Council met on Tuesday discussion was held on changing the current EDA job being advertised to be EDA combination with Assistant City Administrator. According to City Council Member Jenny Quade, The City used to have an assistant administrative position years ago so it may be a good addition and also good succession planning. An extension to the EDA Service Agreement was issued with Jim Hartshorn. The extension will continue with a 15-day notice by either the City or Hartshorn to terminate the agreement. Designation of 2022 filing period is set for August 2nd through the 16th, 2022. June 29th will be the date for the 2nd half of the City Facilities Tour. Discussion was held on the Windom Chamber Can Bin not being in service anymore. People are encouraged to put their cans in with their normal recycling. Waste Management will be making an annual contribution to Riverfest. The Windom Pool will be opening today for a trial run and then it will be opened for a FREE SWIM on Sunday June 12th from 1-5pm for the community.

Lutheran Church of Our Savior will be hosting a Salad and Sandwich Luncheon today from 11am to 1pm. The ladies will be serving Mary’s Italian Salad, Potato Salad, Fresh Fruit Salad, Chicken Salad on Croissants, pickles, dessert bars and a beverage. Take out is available and there will be a free will offering that all proceeds will be going to Lutheran Women’s Mission League (LWML). Everyone is welcome to come have Salad and Sandwiches at 1157 Third Ave in Windom.
