On April 10th at approximately 9am, a Windom Police Officers were called to the 1000 block of 13th Street after a 911 hangup call involving a possible domestic disturbance. The male and female were engaged in a verbal argument and are going through a separation process. After investigation it was determined that nothing physical occurred and parties agreed to separate in the home. Parties were given Crisis Center information.

Windom Police were dispatched to HyLife Foods in the evening of April 9th for items being stolen out of an employee’s locker. Items valued at approximately $1,101 which included an I-Phone-12 Pro, Bluetooth Ear headphones, and a  Blue Jays Baseball hat  were taken between 7:30 and 10:30pm while the victim was working. This matter is under investigation and pending video from Human Resources.

The Windom Planning Commission will meet Tonight at 7pm in the Windom City Hall City Council Chambers.

Des Moines Valley Health and Human Services Board Meeting will be held Thursday April 14th at 9am at the Jackson County Government East Cafeteria.  The board meeting will be available through “GoToWebinar” program. Please register for Regular DVHHS Board Meeting.

The board took action to select the top two candidates and have entered into negotiations with them in hopes of filling the administrator position. Start date will depend on negotiations. Further updates will be available after this week’s meeting.

It’s National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week April 10th through the 16th.

Every year during the second week of April, the telecommunications personnel in the public safety community, are honored. This week-long event is a time to celebrate and thank those who dedicate their lives to serving the public as 911 Dispatchers.

The work is complete and Windom Area Health is inviting the public to join them for tours of the newly remodeled Emergency Department. Today from 2:30-4pm public tours will be available. Coffee and Cookies will be served in the Ambulance Garage for those waiting for their tour to start.
