Cottonwood County Sheriffs Office on February 9th received information of a stolen vehicle traveling eastbound on I-90 that had been stolen from a dealership in Sioux Falls SD. They were then informed the vehicle was near Highway 60 and Highway 86 west of Windom. Minnesota State Patrol, Windom Police Department and Cottonwood County Sheriffs were watching for the vehicle. A Deputy was able to locate a vehicle matching the description east of Mountain Lake and a traffic stop was conducted. A 41-year-old female was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of a controlled substance, charges are pending.

Windom Police Department received a phone call concerning check fraud. A 29-year-old male suspect from Lucan Minnesota that was known to the business office was cashing dishonored checks. The 29-year-old was also known to be passing checks over multi–Minnesota Counties, along with Iowa. He presently has 14 active warrants.

Fulda City Council Met earlier this week Discussion was tabled to gather more information concerning the sale of an old police car now being used as a city pool vehicle. The Council approved placing the Wood Duck Lots for Sale in the Murray County Visitor Guides and the 2022 Fire Department Officers as follows.

The Minnesota DNR is reminding potential applicants that the deadline to apply for 2022 invasive aquatic plant management grants is 9 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 21.
In 2022, up to $1.25 million will be available to fund projects which help manage invasive aquatic plants. This includes $850,000 in special one-time funds to help lake associations manage invasive aquatic plants. These one-time grants will be available for both traditional control projects and projects focused on new infestations and innovative control methods.
