The Windom City Council has scheduled a special meeting for Monday, November 9th, at 4:30 p.m. to canvass the results of Tuesday’s municipal election. City Administrator Steve Nasby explained that under Minnesota law, the sitting City Council serves as the canvassing board and must review and certify municipal election results within three to ten days following the election. Nasby noted the process typically takes only a few minutes unless a recount is necessary. The meeting will take place in the Windom City Council Chambers. In other business, the Council took action on a resolution to formally discontinue the city’s use of Dynamite Park and return the property to Cottonwood County. The action follows an earlier decision based on a recommendation from the Park and Recreation Commission. The resolution allows the city to complete the necessary paperwork to transfer the property back to the county.
