Jackson County Sheriff’s Office 45 calls from June 22nd to June 28th. Deputies and the Spirit Lake Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire on County Road 4 near Pearl Lake. Deputies, the Jackson Fire Department and Alpha Fire Department responded to a report of a wind tower on fire in Enterprise Township. The Heron Lake Fire Department was paged to a grass fire along the railroad tracks along Highway 60 near Brewster and Alpha Fire Department was paged to a kitchen fire in Alpha. Deputies conducted 2 Welfare Checks and several traffic related incidents. Deputies responded to 5 Disturbances, 1 Harassment in Heron Lake, a Domestic Disturbance in Heron Lake, a Shoplifting incident at Jackson Tobacco, a damage to property and multiple ordinance violations at a residence in Jackson. The Windom Police Department submitted their June 2026 Monthly Crime Report. They had 14 Adult Arrests, 1 Juvenile Arrest and served 4 Warrants with a total of 512 Calls for Service for the month. There were 11 Accidents with 2 injuries and 5 DUI/Underage Drink/Drive. Windom Police Officers issued a total of 156 Traffic Violations and Warnings for the month of April. The Business, Arts and Recreation Center, or BARC, is inviting the community to its 25th Annual Meeting on Monday, July 20. The evening begins with a Community Block Party from 5:30 to 6:30 on BARC’s east lawn, featuring a burger or brat meal with all the fixings for a $10 donation. Everyone is welcome, and take-out meals will be available. The Annual Meeting will follow at approximately 6:30 p.m. and includes a review of the past year’s accomplishments, a financial report, and election of board members. The annual Silent Auction also continues through July 20, with bidding closing after the meeting. Proceeds from the event help support BARC and its ongoing programs and building improvements.
