Drivers in Cottonwood County will want to plan ahead over the next couple of weeks. A road construction project is now underway on County Road 47 in Mountain Lake Township, about a mile north of County Road 13. The project requires the road to be closed to through traffic while crews replace the existing bridge with new precast concrete box culverts. Additional work includes grading, installing riprap, resurfacing the roadway and completing erosion control measures. The closure is expected to remain in place for approximately two weeks, depending on weather conditions. Motorists are encouraged to follow posted detours and allow extra travel time while construction is underway.
