City of St James sent out a reminder- Sump Pump Reminder As spring rains continue, please make sure your sump pumps are discharging outside of your home and not into the sanitary sewer system. The spirit of giving is alive and well in Windom and it’s showing up one pint at a time. The Windom Women of Today said local blood donations were at their highest levels in years, with more people stepping up to donate than they’ve seen since before the pandemic. From longtime donors to first-timers rolling up their sleeves, the community response was overwhelming and they want to see it again! Organizers say every donation truly matters, especially as hospitals continue to face a constant need for blood supplies. Your next opportunity to be someones hero in Windom is set for Wednesday, June 10th, from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Windom Community Center. The Windom Women of Today say they’re grateful for the continued support and proud to see the community coming together to help save lives. I’m feeling a little under the weather… So I am thinking that biking to work today is out of the question, it’s National Pizza Party Day but I don’t want to spread my germs so I am thinking that all that is left is staying home and celebrating National Chocolate Chip Day. I am going to run and get some orange sherbert to help my sore throat and then spread all the chocolate chips all over it… HEY NOW… Don’t knock it till you try it!! It’s amazing!!! The ultimate treat created by my one and only Dad back in the day of Goodrich Ice cream and Baskin Robins as a special treat was chocolate chip mint ice cream and orange sherbert… Ahh the memories, I am feeling better already!
