The Des Moines River Chapter of Ducks Unlimited is celebrating a major milestone this spring, as they mark their 50th annual banquet with a night full of food, fundraising, and prizes. The event is set for Saturday, April 11th at the Windom Community Center, with doors opening at 5 p.m. and dinner served at 6:30. Guests will enjoy a choice of New York strip steak or chicken breast, while supporting local conservation efforts that have helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for wildlife habitat over the years. This year’s golden anniversary celebration will feature the giveaway of 50 guns, along with several raffles throughout the evening. Highlights include a ten-gun raffle, a special four-gun “winner takes all” drawing, and a sponsor gun opportunity with one-in-six odds of winning. There will also be an early bird raffle for those who purchased tickets in advance, plus additional prizes including a pallet of Busch Light or a gift card of equal value. Banquet attendance is limited to 300 people, and organizers encourage pre-registration. Tickets range from $25 for youth memberships up to $300 for sponsor packages, with table options also available. Organizers say the event is not only a celebration, but a way to continue supporting Ducks Unlimited mission of preserving wetlands and wildlife habitat for future generations.
