The Windom Police Department reported 115  calls in the week of September 7th to September 13th. Officers handled 4 Citizen Complaints, 4 Civil Disputes and conducted 2 Concerns for Welfares. Officers responded to 17 Directed Patrol calls, 2 Juvenile Runaways, and 1 Predatory Offender Check. Windom Police also had 6 Suspicious Activity Calls, 1 Suspicious Person and 1 Suspucious Vehicle Call, made 3 Public Assists and conducted 53 Traffic Stops. Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office reported 41 calls in the week of September 7th to September 13th. If you’ve been missing those mouthwatering 4-H food stand cinnamon rolls…good news! Cottonwood County 4-H is bringing them back with a special cinnamon roll fundraiser. Pre-order your baked and frosted rolls now through October 13. A dozen rolls are $20, or get four for just $8. Orders can be placed by calling the Cottonwood County Extension Office at 507-831-4022, or online at www.z.umn.edu/2025CinnamonRolls . Pick-up will be Thursday, October 16, between 7:30 and 7:45 a.m. at your selected location. Choices include Jeffers, Mountain Lake, Westbrook, or Windom. Payment is by check or cash only, with exact change preferred. Don’t miss your chance to enjoy the sweet tradition of Cottonwood County 4-H cinnamon rolls and support local 4-H youth at the same time!

It’s almost Homecoming Week in Windom, and the celebration kicks off with Coronation on Monday, September 22nd at 8 p.m. in the Gold Gym! Elementary students are getting ready to show their school spirit with fun dress-up days, September 22nd through the 26th. Starting next Monday Students can get their groove on with it being Groove and Snooze Day, so get comfy! Tuesday is Boogie Down Day, with a disco theme. Wednesday brings Groovy Colors Day, where each class shows off their colors. Thursday is Get Your Groove On Game Day, so wear your favorite jersey. And Friday wraps up the week with Funky Friday Spirit Day, celebrating Eagle Pride AND a Homecoming Day Parade. Community Members and Businesses are encouraged to participate! Lineup begins at 9:30 a.m. near the track, and the parade starts at 10.
