The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office has identified the driver critically injured in Monday night’s ATV accident near Morgan. Catherine Hoffbeck of Morgan was airlifted to North Memorial Hospital after the rollover crash on private property along County Highway 11. The accident happened around 7:19 p.m. on July 28th. The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate.

She was injured while trying to get the cattle in, that had gotten out on her farm. She was flipped off the backend of a 4-wheeler. She was taken to North Memorial in Robbinsdale on Monday night. She has had a right-sided hemicraniectomy surgery with several skull fractures and brain bleeds. X-rays show only head trauma.”

Windom Police Department reported on the 29^th at 7:27pm officers received a report of drug activity in the 1400 block of 17^th Street. After investigation, an arrest was made of a 50-year-old Windom female for 5^th Degree Drug Possession, possessing mixtures containing Methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance. On the 30^th at approximately 9:45pm officers received a report of property damage in the 800 block of 16^th Street. According to the reporting party his side garage door had been damaged. The reporting party stated between the hours of Noon and 1pm when his son was home, he did not notice any damage but after taking his dog for a walk at approximately 4pm he noticed the side door to his garage door appeared as if someone had kicked it in. The door jam and frame were broken. The door was not locked. The reporting party stated that he did not notice anything missing at this time but did relay that one of his neighbors homes had been broken into recently and another neighbor reported suspicious activity to him.

Oh my goodness!!! It is totally crazy that today is the first day in August!!! I’m not kidding when I say it seems like it should be May! I have to share I was listening to a young lady interviewing with Steve yesterday about 4-H and her experiences. She is amazing! It is so wonderful to hear young people that can speak with enthusiasm and clarity. Honestly, I could have sat and listened to her for hours, she had me all cranked up and ready to attend the Fair. 4-H truly is an amazing program that gives our youth so many different opportunities to exploit their inner talents and bring them to life! With gusto I am now motivated to take on celebrating some of the thousands of National Days Today. Hmmmm… Maybe I spoke to quickly… I mean today is Homemade Pie Day- over the years Marie Callender and Sara Lee have pretty much taken that task off my plate and Steve and I feel pretty lucky when our daughter in law April brings a homemade pie for our consumption.. Perhaps I’ll put that in my to-do-list for the day, I mean IF I DO, I am taking National Planner Day serious… WHAT THE HECK?!! National Planner Day? I know there are people out there that love to organize and use a planner as an organization tool.. For me, I can’t ever remember where I put the planner! UGH!!! I can get into National Water Balloon Day… Maybe I’ll just drive around town and throw them at people and see what happens! I talk a big game don’t I???? My Spidey men Henry, James and Theo today is your day as it is National Spider Man Day. I can’t wait to see pictures! BUT most of all… Today is National Promise to Care Day. I do care and my hope is that you understand that each day I have an encounter, a conversation, get to see someone from afar or get a message via e-mail, phone, text or note it just makes me care all the more.
