Windom Police Department handled two parking lot accidents, one in the Windom Area High School Parking lot on the 18th and the other in Casey’s Parking lot on the 19th. All were minor damage no injury accidents. Also, on the 18th at 10:20pm an officer was on patrol on Highway 71 at County Road 15 when he spotted a vehicle in front of him driving erratically. The officer initiated a traffic stop and after investigation, an arrest was made of a 72-year-old female from Jeffers for Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor.

Two public meetings are on the schedule for today. The Cottonwood County Board of Commissioners will hold a special meeting at 1:30 p.m. at the Cottonwood County Courthouse. The agenda includes discussion on an Interim Use Permit for Minnesota Paving and Materials and tonight, the Windom Area Health Governing Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. in the Large Conference Room at the hospital.

Windom City Council will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, June 24th, at 5 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. On the agenda: a network services agreement for AMI metering with Tantalus, the engagement of a bankruptcy attorney related to HyLife Foods, and a public hearing on a proposed business subsidy for Premium Iowa Pork. The council will also review loan and subsidy documents and consider a resolution approving a loan agreement and related paperwork with Premium Iowa Pork. Additionally, the council will discuss MnDOT’s preliminary design concept for a proposed Highway 60/71 roundabout. Just a reminder that City Council Meetings are open to the public.

The 51st Annual Minnesota State Cattlemen’s Association Summer Beef Tour and Trade Show is July 15th in Little Falls at the Morrison County Fairgrounds. The Mississippi Valley Cattlemen will be hosting this years Tour. Early Bird Registration goes through June 24th. Featured stops this year include Barrett Petfood, Kathrein Farms, Smude Farms, Kaiser Farms, Caughey Cattle Company and Zapzalka Farms. Lunch and a delicious steak dinner are included with paid registration. Register by going to www.mnsca.org/summer-tour On the 15th of July, Tour registration will be from 6:30 a.m. to 8am at the Morrison County Fairgrounds located at 15575 Hawthorn Rd Little Falls. Springfield Riverside Days promises five days of fun events in Springfield starting on Wednesday June 25th with their Grand Parade on Friday the 27th at 6pm. Striking out Cancer Event is this Friday the 27th at Island Park with the Pirates taking on the St James Athletics. A meal will be served from 5-7.
