Redwood County Sheriff’s Office released the following information. On April 27th at around 11:34pm, the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Minnesota State Highway 19 near County Road 17 for a possible vehicle fire. Upon arrival, responding officers located a motor vehicle crash on private property. Upon further investigation, it was determined that a 2014 Subaru Outback went off road and collided into a parked unoccupied John Deere Tractor. Both vehicles were on fire, fully engulfed with flames. The Redwood Falls Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire. The driver of the Subaru was found deceased in the vehicle. The identity of the driver will be released at a later time. Assisting Agencies on the incident included the Minnesota State Patrol, Redwood Falls Police Department, Redwood Falls Fire Department, Centra Care Ambulance and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office. This investigation is ongoing.

Officers handled 2 Noise Complaints, had 2 Animal Calls, investigated 1 Sex Crime, worked 1 Theft report and conducted 25 Traffic Stops. Today’s Meetings include:

  • Windom City Council will be meeting at Windom City Hall at 5pm for a special meeting of their first night of facility tours. The first five city department tours will include the Electric Department, Wastewater and Water Treatment Plants, the Street Department, and the Windom Airport. These tours are open to the public, so if you’re interested in learning more about the inner workings of your city’s essential services, you’re encouraged to follow along in your own vehicle.   • The Fulda City Council will hold a Board of Appeal and Equalization Meeting at 7pm.

The Windom Chamber Shred-It Event will be back on Thursday May 29th in Schwalbach Ace Hardware’s parking lot. Chamber members can schedule an appointment from 3pm-5pm for 60 cents per pound with a minimum of $5. Non-Chamber members will be able welcome for walk-ins from 5-7pm for .70 cents per pound with a minimum of $5.
