As a reminder, Today is the statewide tornado drills. The National Weather Service and the Minnesota Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, along with other state, county and local agencies will conduct tornado drills to allow families and organizations to work on their safety plans as the outdoor warning sirens are sounded. First Siren will be sounded at 1:45pm which is intended for institutions and businesses and the second drill will be sounded at 6:45pm which is intended for families and second shift workers to practice plans. Remember that counties and cities own their sirens and therefore decide how and when they are activated. KDOM during severe weather will have an Alert from the National Weather Service and we will keep you up-to-date and informed as to what is happening. A watch indicates that conditions are favorable and that a weather hazard is possible. A Warning is issued when it is time to take action. KDOM encourages you to stay tuned for up-to-date weather to stay informed and safe.
