The 12th Annual Minnesota Municipal Beverage Association (MMBA) “Help Our Local Animals” Supplies Drive is underway at Windom’s Riverbend Liquor Store. Donations of either monetary or actual supplies can be dropped off at the Liquor Store located at 575 2nd Avenue in Windom, all month long for both dogs and cats. Specific items in need are Clumping Cat Litter, New Fleece Throws, New Cat and Dog Toys and of course Monetary Donations. All donations are greatly appreciated, but according to the Cottonwood County Animal Rescue monetary donations work best, as they can do more with it, by purchasing supplies they need, pay for vet bills, etc. River Bend Liquor and CCAR will also be holding their 4th Annual Pet Adoption Day on Saturday, April 12th from Noon to 2pm at the Riverbend Liquor Store. Cottonwood County Animal Rescue will be present with their pets available for adoption. If you adopt a pet on the 12th, the MMBA and Molson/Coors Light team has committed to sponsor 30 adoption reimbursements up to $100 throughout the state of Minnesota, so if you adopt a dog or cat from a local shelter, Riverbend can help try to get that reimbursement. New this year is a Photo Pet Contest! All you need to do is take a photo of your pet with any Molson-Coors product and send it to John.Nelson@windommn.com by Monday April 21st. Photos will be put on River Bend’s Facebook page to allow the public to vote on their favorite photo until Tuesday April 28th. The top five vote getters will be entered into the state-wide photo contest where the top five winners will receive a pet prize pack from Molson-Coors.
