The Martin County Sheriff’s Office released the following information on February 27th at approximately 614pm Martin County Sheriff’s Department responded to a domestic assault in the city of Truman. It was reported that an adult female had been shot in the chest with a pistol. The female was transported to the hospital. A firearm was found at the scene by Law Enforcement and secured. The male suspect was identified as 32-year-old Kyle Jonathan Liford. Liford could possibly be driving a 2002 Green Chevrolet Tahoe with license plates MN NVU 782. It is unknown currently where Liford or the vehicle is. If anyone has any information about Liford’s or the vehicle’s whereabouts, please contact the Martin County Sheriff’s Office at 507-238-4481. Assisting at the scene was Fairmont Police Department, Minnesota River Valley Drug Task Force, Truman Ambulance and Mayo Ambulance. This remains as an active investigation.

Jackson County Sheriff’s Department reported 18 Calls from February 24th to February 26th . Deputies responded to a couple child protection issues and conducted traffic stops. The Jackson Fire Department was paged to a Quonset fire at a rural address Northwest of Jackson and the Lakefield Fire Department was paged for mutual aid. Crews were on scene for approximately 1.5 hours. Then Deputies, Jackson Fire Department, Jackson Ambulance and Alpha Fire and 1st Responders all responded to a report of an elevator explosion in Alpha. It was reported that a maintenance crew was working on the elevator when dust ignited causing multiple explosions which was heard by many local residents. Workers who were on the leg were able to retreat back to the ground without any help needed from the responding agencies. One worker was transported to an area hospital for possible minor injuries. Crews were on scene for about 2 hours.

KDOM congratulates the Windom Area Schools Masked Bandits Robotics Team for having a most productive time at State competing against approximately 300 participants and 63 teams. The Masked Bandits are comprised of three members, Jesus Guillen Rodriguez, Mynor Mendoza Lopez and Caelen Ralston. This team were Excellence Award Winner, got 2nd Place Skills and Semi Finalist. The Masked Bandits are headed to Worlds Championship in Dallas Texas where they will compete against approximately 800 Teams from around the World! Great job Gentlemen! We wish you the best of luck in May!!!
