Windom Police Department reported two Traffic Accidents. A two-vehicle injury accident on the 23rd at 4:25pm the Intersection Highway 60 and US Highway 71S (Kwik Trip). Moderate damage was done to both vehicles and on the 24th at 2:55pm a two-vehicle non-injury accident in the parking lot of Windom Area Health both vehicles received minor damage. On the 22nd at 3:19pm Officers were called to the Phat Pheasant for an Assault on the bartender. After investigation, a 26-year-old male from Windom was arrested for 5th Degree Assault and Disorderly Conduct, pending review by the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

Jackson County Sheriff’s Office reported 17 Calls from January 20th to January 23rd. Deputies dealt with damage to property report, assisted Jackson Ambulance, handled an animal complaint took a harassment report and a possible abuse report in Jackson. Windom Area Schools announced their Triple ‘A’ Award candidates, Harriet Lohse and Charles Erickson, presented by the Minnesota State High School League. The Triple A Award celebrates the best of Academics- Excellence in the classroom, Arts- Passion and participation in fine arts activities, and Athletics- Dedication to League sponsored sports programs. This prestigious honor recognizes students who not only participate in but also excel in all three areas. According to Activities Director, Jacob Johnson, these two outstanding seniors represented Windom Schools at the Region level, showcasing their talent, dedication, and hard work.

This is the last week to donate decorative holiday items to the BARC. BARC is accepting good quality items to be sold at BARC’s 2025 Winter Wonderland Craft & Vendor Fair in December. If you have clean and in working order items, please bring them to the BARC office this Monday through Friday from Noon to 4pm. They will not accept Large Christmas Trees. If you would like to have a tax credit for your donation, please make an itemized list of your donations before delivery and ask for a receipt. If you have any questions please call the Office between Noon and 4pm at 507-831-2375. The BARC is seeking donations of Golf Clubs also for the new Indoor Golf Simulator. If you have clubs just taking up space please consider donating.
