You should have received your survey from the Windom Area Schools for input on the proposed project to construct new fine arts and athletics facilities on the school campus. The school is seeking your feedback on the project and this is your chance to be a part of the discussion. The district is working on other financial options through grant applications, and a naming program and possibly the Ag2School Credit that could potentially fund $14 million of the proposed $35 million total. The District is trying to minimize the cost to taxpayers. There is a special code each household will receive to complete the survey online. If there are two or more eligible voters in a household wishing to complete the survey, you can call the school at 507-831-6910 and request a second code. Survey’s must be completed and submitted by December 2nd. Please take the time to fill out your survey. This will help shape the district’s plans in preparation of the special election for a building referendum on May 13, 2025. USE YOUR VOICE and speak now.

We are halfway through November!!! 13 days to Thanksgiving. 14 days to Black Friday Madness. 15 days to Small Business Saturday… 25 days till the Reindeer Races and 39 days to Christmas and 46 days till the NEW YEAR!!!! It’s going to be crazy busy watching the days fly by!!!! Today is National America Recycles Day! I thought we started the whole recycling thingy YEARS AGO! Maybe instead of stuff I should recycle thoughts or stories… You may not know this about me, BUT I love to write. Well, I like to talk and I write like I talk, if you haven’t noticed… my writing is more all the crazy ideas or experiences that flow through my head at any given moment BUT I have found that if I write my head doesn’t hurt as much. I mean getting it out and putting it on paper really is therapeutic. When you write, you can do with it what you wish! Speak it, Send it, Tear it Up, delete it, or save it for another time. Writing is the best and cheapest therapy one can do for themselves. Just becareful because words have power. Especially if they are out of the depths of your head and floating around in society! Celebrate I love to write day by jotting a few things down. It’s also Pack your Mom’s lunch Day, this really has nothing to do with lunch but a long time ago when my boys were little they were in charge of dinner one night a week each. This taught them planning, preparing and gave them the satisfaction of knowing that they created something for their family. Nobody ever complained at meal time because it is what was made. Steve and I ate a lot of plain spaghetti noodles and black olives…. Good Times. I love the concept of kids making their parents meals it just levels the playing field. I won’t complain when you cook and you can’t complain when I cook! Music is an important part of life. Today is National Drummers Day and our Drew was an amazing drummer. Albeit it was loud and obnoxious at times, I still smile when I think of the neighborhood kids sitting on the front lawn listening to him (unbeknowest to him) as he practiced. He played in the drum corp and was in band Airplanes to Athens he just had such an amazing cool presence about him that I have always admired. I will forever think of him as my Little Drummer Boy and of course one of my most favorite Christmas song is Little Drummer Boy. I love every rendition of it. My bucket of sunshine, James was Animal from the Muppets for Halloween and it was hilarious! He fit the bill. Drew even got out his drum set to make it authentic… Maybe I’ll have another drummer to follow in the future!
AND if you have you ever just felt like there isn’t enough time, Today is National Ample Time Day. After a little research, I learned that you can use today to reflect on your life objectives, your health, and how you may incorporate them into your daily routine. We all have the same number of hours in the day, but no two people spend them the same way. Making a map of each area of your life will help you figure out what’s essential and what you can do without. Time is a finite resource. You must learn how to manage it for a better quality of life. Crazy!!! I thought National Ample Time Day meant there was more than enough time to sleep that extra 10 minutes and stop for a donut before getting to work! Good thing there is ample time to figure it all out!
