November is National Family Caregivers month. Recognizing that caregiving can be challenging is the first step to helping those that care for the elderly and the disabled family members in their homes 24/7. The Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota stated you can give family caregivers a well-deserved break to rest and recharge as a Respite Volunteer. Volunteers share their skills and talents while visiting older adults at their homes each week. No prior experience is necessary, and training is provided. You can help change lives and make a difference in your community. Get started today by calling 866-787-9802 or visiting LSSmn.org/caregiver. Give the gift of your time and talent this season, become a Respite Volunteer.

Guess what today is?!!!! It is National Abet and Aid Punsters Day!!! What that means is that you can aid me today by laughing at my puns… You know like Why did the Viking buy a boat?  Because there was a SAIL…  Oh come on that is a good one!!! Steve warned me this could go sideways real fast but I told him Butterflies just aren’t what they used to be… Come on everyone… loosen up and laugh with each other, it’s been a crazy year with all the negative campaigning and depressing weather events. TODAY is a day of encouragement and laughter… Let the Dad Jokes Roll… YOU CAN DO IT!!!! Give Joe a call today at 507-831-3908 and tell him a good joke you heard or come up with your own original punny jokes. Don’t be discouraged if there are people without a smile YOU CAN CREATE ON FOR THEM… You know like the person who invented Zero, THANKS FOR NOTHING!!!! On more serious note, last night I made pizza for dinner. I don’t know how many of you cringe at pineapple on pizza but we love it.. The sad part is I burned my Hawaiian Pizza- I should have used ALOHA temperature…

It’s not just Pun Day… Its also National Dunce Day. Did you ever have to wear the hat while sitting in a corner at school? Unfortunately, I remember a time or two that I had to. But today I get to celebrate myself.. I often do say, if I had half a brain I’d be dangerous. It is also National Harvey Wallbanger Day. I drank a few back in my college years. The drink itself was invented in 1952 by a mixologist named Duke Antone at the Blackwatch Bar on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood. Legend has it, he named the drink after a Manhatten Beach Surfer named Harvey or Tom Harvey, who would often visit his bar. The story goes that Harvey got tipsy after an evening of drinking, so much so that it was enough to make him bang into the wall upon his exit. NOW that is something to celebrate! THE drink of the 70’s was named after a PUN… HARVEY WALL BANGER!!! Priceless… I know there is a lot more to the story but this is the one I am sticking to… You heard about the bossy guy that went into a bar.. He orders everyone a round!!!

I told Steve that being in Radio is tough and Lord Knows we are always broke and he said well, I have a solution.. I’ll just change my name to Billy. WHAT? I exclaimed… He said yeah.. You know since I am on in the Mornings every day… WHAT I exclaimed again.. AND HE SAID yes!!! If I change my name I’ll be a BILLY-ON-AIR   all of our troubles will disappear…

UGGH….

What is the recipe for a Harvey Wallbanger?
