Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office reported 39 calls in the week of October 20th to October 26th.  Deputies conducted 5 Civil Processes, made 5 Public Assists, investigated 1 Harassment Call, responded to 1 Verbal Domestic Call and conducted 4 Traffic Stops. Windom Police Department responded to a vehicle vs pedestrian crash on the 21st at 1:53pm at 24 9th Street. A 20-year-old male from Windom his 2008 Jeep LIB when he was confronted by people in another vehicle. When he backed up,  he struck a 45-year-old female from Windom causing her to fall hard and hit her head on the roadway, appearing to cause a minor head injury. The incident is under investigation and is being reviewed by the Prosecuting Attorney’s office for possible charges. One the 23rd at 7:42 pm an officer was called to the 1700 block of 4th Avenue for a possible domestic. Upon arrival and investigation, the officers spoke with the visibly upset and crying victim. The victim stated the male got upset and pushed her into a wall outside of the kitchen and then again into the front door of the apartment and then stormed out. A 29-year-old Windom Male was arrested for Domestic Assault, Intentionally Inflicting/Attempting to Inflict Bodily Harm to Another, pending review by the Prosecuting Attorney.  On the 24th at 11am an officer took a Theft Report from a Windom Resident. The Reporting Party stated she was at work in the 800 block of River Road and left an Apple I-Pad, 10th Generation that was pink in color with her name on the back on the counter when she had to leave the area to tend to a resident. When she returned the I-Pad was missing. The I-Pad is valued at $ 499.99.

  • The Cottonwood County Board of Commissioners will be holding a Special Meeting at 9am in the Cottonwood County Law Enforcement Center in Windom.
  • Windom City Council will be holding the second day of their Special Meeting at 7pm at the Windom Community Center to discuss the Annual Budget.

The Cottonwood County Historical Society will be hosting “A Road Trip Around Minnesota: Lakes & Waterfalls at their 2024 Annual Meeting on November 3rd at 2pm. Speaker Jay Grammond a professional photographer, will take you on a virtual road trip around the state to learn about some of Minnesota’s largest lakes and fantastic waterfalls. There will be light refreshments and door prizes. Come for the meeting and enjoy the trip at Cottonwood County Historical Society at 812 Fourth Ave in Windom.
