Cottonwood County Board of Commissioners met on the 4th. Commissioners accepted the low bid from Prahm Construction, Inc. in the amount of $1,766,413.00 for Project 017-598-010. Adopted resolution 24-06-18 Agreement to State Transportation Fund Local Bridge Replacement Program Grant Terms and Conditions. The Commissioners discussed and asked for more information and clarification on the String Lake Outlet Structure. There have been Electric Vehicles charging at County Parks. It was recommended to the Board set a fee to capture the cost of electricity and infrastructure. Many local parks allow for this and are on plugshare: https://www.plugshare.com/  This service could increase the use of South Dutch Charlie and Talcot County Parks where there is electrical service. A suggested rate of $2 per hour via envelope/dropbox honor system that is currently in place for camping fees at South Dutch Charlie and firewood and Ice at Talcot was presented. Charging instructions can be given via the plugshare app, especially noting that charging at reserved sites at Talcot is not allowed. The Board set EV charging fee at $2 per hour at County Parks. During the Board of Appeal and Equalization Meeting there was a motion to reduce land value by $34,400 as land was re-evaluated on Parcel 07.036.0102 owned by Jerome and Joyce Graff. Also, a motion to reduce building value by $3,300 due to removal of fireplace on Parcel 24.825.0630 owned by Michael D. Ruppert. And the Board moved to accept the remainder of assessments as presented.

Well the first day of summer was a total wash out with all the rain!!! I believe I am ready to ditch the rain boots and get my annual sunburn!!! I am soooo not sure if today is going to be filled with actually following through on celebrating the National Days… I mean it is National Take your Dog to Work Day… I mean we are talking Otis… Last time I took him to work, because I was feeling bad about leaving him alone, he got ahold of a Coke bottle and yes I am STILL trying to get the stains out of our carpet. He is just such a free spirit and I just don’t know if I can justify putting staff in Otis’ presence… He is getting so much better but he is still just so naughty. They tell me he will be a dream dog when he turns 3 or 4 or 5… He turns 2 in August… Pray for us… Maybe I’ll keep him home and celebrate National Selfie Day… I could take a few selfies of him and then take the pictures to work… I might be thanked for that… Ok… So I guess it is National Dog Party Day too… I think this is going way too far in honor of our crazy wild pup… Sorry, refusing… even if he looks at me with that cocked head and deep brown eyes, I am NOT throwing a party for him. I’ll throw a frisbee but not a party… It seems a little weird that it is National Yoga Day AND National Cookie Dough Day… I suppose both have the same effect on your brain.. You know pure bliss and contentment? Or maybe they fall on same day because you twist your body in weird and wacky positions just to get the cookie dough.. BUT here I sit over 50 years of age hearing my Mom and Sister tell me I will get worms in my stomach if I eat Cookie Dough… WHO DOES THAT TO A KID??? I’ll just try to bend my body and mind around to resolve that inner issue! Okay, Found one… It is National Seashell Day… I can totally get behind going to the beach and finding seashells by the seashore, which makes me think of Henry because he JUST learned that tongue twister and had Steve and I reciting it over and over again… faster and faster… “Sally sells seashells down by the seashore”…
