Windom Police Department reported on the 26th at approximately 1:56am an officer on patrol on River Road near 15th Ave was passed by a vehicle that had expired registration status on license plates. A traffic stop was initiated and after investigation, an arrest was made of 36-year-old male from Windom for Misdemeanor DWI. At 2:44am an officer responded to the 300 Block of 7th Street for a noise complaint. The officer parked his squad car on 7th Street and could hear voices coming from the alley behind the house. As the Officer approached the alley, he observed a male sitting in the driver’s seat of his vehicle and observed in plain view, the male was rolling a blunt of marijuana and had a mason jar with marijuana in his lap and the keys were in the ignition of the vehicle. After further investigation, an arrest was made of an 18-year-old Windom Male for possible 3rd Degree DWI (1 aggravating factor) pending BCA lab results. On the 26th at 10:07am a two-vehicle accident in American Lutheran Church parking spot. No injuries, moderate to no damage to both vehicles. The matter remains under investigation. On the 27th at 12:03am an officer on patrol on County Road 28 observed a vehicle passing the officer towards N Highway 71. When running the plate of the vehicle it showed the registered owner had a revoked driving status. The officer turned around and attempted to catch up to the vehicle to initiate a traffic stop. The officer observed the vehicle continue across N Highway 71 onto 400th Street after following for a distance the vehicle stopped on the shoulder of the road. After further investigation, an arrest was made of a 45-year-old Windom Female for Misdemeanor DWI. At 6:25am there was a two-vehicle traffic accident on Highway 60 at the intersection of 6th Street. Both drivers thought they had a green light and collided in the intersection, there were no injuries and moderate to severe damage to both vehicles. At 12:12pm there was a two-vehicle accident at Kwik Trip. A 2018 Chev Equinox and a 2022 Ford F 150 truck were both trying to exit Kwik Trip Parking Lot at the South Entrance onto Highway 71. The Ford was ahead of the Chevy. A semi-truck and trailer was attempting to turn into the parking lot off of Highway 71. The Ford had to reverse to avoid a collision with the semi and backed into the Chevy. On the 28th at 12:19am an officer on patrol on Lakeview Ave near 10th Street observed a vehicle with suspicious driving conduct. After initiating a traffic stop and investigation, an arrest was made of a 34-year-old Fairmont female for Gross Misdemeanor DWI- Test Refusal, pending review by the prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

Mountain Lake Police Department reported 10 calls in the week of May 20th to May 26th. Officers handled a civil disagreement and a noise complaint. Officer assisted the Mt Lake Fire with a Kitchen fire that was put out upon arrival. Two separate incidents of Vehicle VS Deer in both cases no injuries to humans but vehicles were towed. Mt Lake Officers also assisted another agency with a stalled vehicle blocking the road and Vehicle VS Guardrail where the vehicle was towed.
An Officer towed an abandoned vehicle and assisted another agency with a rollover accident with no injuries reported, but the vehicle was totaled and towed. Officers cited a 45-year-old female from Mt Lake for a hands-free violation.
