Jackson County Sheriff’s Department reported on the 28th Deputies arrested a 55-year-old male from Windom for Domestic Assault within the county. Deputies took a report of theft of checks and fraudulent use, the matter remains under investigation. Deputies assisted Jackson Ambulance with a medical call and responded to a minor accident in Jackson. At 10:46pm deputies responded to a driving complaint. A vehicle was reported to have been travelling the wrong way on I-90 and used the wrong exit ramp at US 71. The vehicle then turned north onto US 71 again using the wrong lane, travelling northbound in the southbound lane. The vehicle then parked at the Speedway North gas station. Deputies located the vehicle and driver. After investigating, a 33-year-old female from Jackson was arrested for DUI.
On the 29th at 12:17 AM Deputies responded to a report of a disturbance at the Speedway North gas station involving a reported intoxicated customer. After investigating, a 29 year old male from Spirit Lake was arrested for DUI. Dispatch transferred a 911 call to the MN State Patrol and Nobles County Sheriff’s Office of a rolling domestic disturbance in a vehicle that was travelling westbound on I-90 nearing Nobles County. Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in Jackson and assisted the Lakefield PD with another domestic disturbance.

Windom Police Department reported a two-vehicle accident on March 1st at 12:40pm at Speedway. Both vehicles received minor damage and there were no injuries reported.

Beginning Monday, April 1st, the City of St. James will be permanently closing the downtown utility payment drop box located at the Police Station. The decision to close this utility payment site comes after much consideration and regard for the protection of resident’s utility payments. Residents can deposit payments in the drop box located at City Hall, 1205 6th Ave S.
The City of St. James offers several ways for residents to pay utility bills. Whether a payment is made in cash, by check, or via credit/debit card, payments can be made directly to City Hall. Payments made in cash or by check, can be paid by accessing the utility payment drop box located at City Hall. We encourage all residents to obtain a receipt for all cash payments. Payments can also be made by calling City Hall to make the payment over the phone with a credit/debit card, or online at https://www.xpressbillpay.com. Residents can also opt to have automatic payments set-up.
