The Riverfest Committee is looking for YOUR input on the theme or name for the 2024 Riverfest Celebration! Submissions will be taken until February 1st to be considered. The theme or name will be selected at the next Riverfest Committee Meeting. If you have a Logo in mind, please submit that as well. Submissions can be submitted by going to the Windom Area Chamber of Commerce website or dropping off at office. When submitting please submit your name, e-mail address, phone number, what your suggested theme name is for the 2024 Riverfest Event and a short explanation as to why you chose this theme.

The 32nd Annual Des Moines Valley Chapter MN DEER HUNTERS ASSOCIATION BANQUET is on Saturday, February 17th at the Windom Community Center located at 1750 Cottonwood Lake Drive. Banquet tickets are now on sale to the general public. Regular membership ticket is $65 (includes one banquet ticket and 1-year membership). Spouse Dinner ticket $30 and Student Dinner tickets are $30. Tony’s Catering Service will be serving Sirloin Steaks. There will be NO ticket sales at the door. You MUST purchase your tickets in advance. Doors open at 5pm and there will be a Silent and Live Auction and a Large General raffle. The Jackson Business Development Committee announced the deadline for entering the 2024 Jackson Business Challenge has been extended to September 30, 2024. The Jackson Business Challenge is an entrepreneurial start-up competition for Jackson’s central business district. Business concepts eligible for the competition are: 1. New business 2. A second or third satellite business from an existing location in another town. Or 3. A significant expansion of a current business that includes an additional business concept. The Jackson Business Development Committee in conjunction with the City of Jackson, Jackson Area Chamber commerce, JEDC and Economic Development Office is offering an incentive package worth over $20,000 for a winning business that will open in downtown Jackson by June 2, 2025. The “Give It Your Best Shot: Focus on Cottonwood County Parks” is currently being displayed in the Remick Gallery. Admission is free to this exhibit that features photographs taken in Cottonwood County by local photographers relating to this year’s theme ‘Parks’. Be sure to stop in and vote for your favorite photograph. This exhibit runs till March 23rd and is sponsored by the Robert & Helen Remick Endowment.
