Windom Police Department reported on the 12th at 10:35am, Officers assisted State Patrol with a transient by Fortune Transportation. The 60-year-old female from Pennsylvania was walking on Highway 60 and refusing any help. Due to the weather and temperatures outside. It was decided to transport the female to the Windom Area Hospital. A local church assisted with housing due to the weather. Then at 1:41pm Officers responded to Speedway to take a report of a possible fraud. Officers spoke with the manager, and they believe they found a credit card “skimmer”. After investigation, the manager will be sending the device to the companies IT department and will follow up with the investigation. On the 13th Windom Police Department overheard Mountain Lake Police Department request for assistance in Mountain Lake as they were dealing with an uncooperative male during a domestic assault. Windom Police Department assisted with the arrest of a 45-year-old male from Mountain Lake

The Riverfest Committee is looking for YOUR input on the theme or name for the 2024 Riverfest Celebration! Submissions will be taken until February 1st to be considered. The theme or name will be selected at the next Riverfest Committee Meeting. If you have a Logo in mind please submit that as well. The Windom Eagles Booster Club will be sponsoring McBooster Night on Wednesday January 24th from 4-7pm at McDonalds. The Boys Basketball team will be working at McDonald’s to bring you McBooster Night. A portions of the proceeds will go to the Windom Eagles Booster Club to support activities, arts and athletics with Windom Schools. Come to McDonalds on the 24th and support the Boosters!!!

The “Give It Your Best Shot: Focus on Cottonwood County Parks” opens Sunday January 21st from 2-4pm in the Remick Gallery. Admission is free to this exhibit that features photographs taken in Cottonwood County by local photographers relating to this year’s theme ‘Parks’. Be sure to stop in and vote for your favorite photograph. Light refreshments will be provided. This exhibit will run from January 21- March 23, 2024 and is sponsored by the Robert & Helen Remick Endowment.
The Cottonwood County Historical Society is located at 812 Fourth Avenue in Windom, and open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Saturday by appointment only. For more information, contact the museum at 831-1134.
