Jackson County Sheriff’s Office reported 20 calls from December 25th to the 29th. Deputies assisted other agencies with 9 transferred calls, medical, pursuits, drug investigation, animals, and accidents. Responded to a report of several goats at large near Sioux Valley. Deputies conducted 7 traffic stops responded to 3 separate domestic disturbances and 1 disturbance within the County.  A full listing of Jackson County calls can be found by clicking link below.

Meetings today include:

  • Murray County Board of Commissioners at 8:30am in the Murray County Government Center. If you would like to listen in by calling or view the meeting via zoom you can find the information on the Murray County Homepage.
  • Jackson County Board of Commissioners and the Drainage Authority meeting at 9am at the Jackson County Court House Commissioners Board Room
  • The Cottonwood County Board of Commissioners at 9:00am at the Cottonwood County Courthouse in the Commissioners Room.
  • The St James City Council at 5:30pm in James City Hall – Council Chambers. Meetings can be viewed live or anytime on the City of St James’s YouTube Channel.
  • Mt Lake City Council at 5:45pm at Mountain Lake City Hall.
  • The Windom City Council meeting at 6:30pm at Windom City Hall in the City Council Chambers

The weather is definitely changing, and BARC is gearing up with their Utilities For A Day Fund Raiser. Thankfully, it has been a mild winter thus far but with that, once broilers were turned on it was found they had repairs amounting to $12,000 just to turn them on.  If you would like to participate in BARC’s Utilities For A Day Program, they are asking to consider $125 in honor of someone, a special occasion or organization, or as a memorial. Your sponsorship on the date or dates chosen throughout 2024 will be recognized on BARC’s LED sign, unless requested to be anonymous. Help BARC fill the 2024 Calendar with as many sponsorships January to December. The Business Arts and Recreation Board of Directors and Staff extend their gratitude for the community’s continued support.

The Windom Eagles will be playing the St James Saints at Target Center on Saturday January 6th. The Girls Varsity plays at 1:30pm and the Boys Varsity will play immediately following. Tickets are $30 and include both varsity games and a Timberwolves game of your choice. The Windom Booster Club will be sponsoring a charter bus for fans! The Booster Bus will be $25 per person.  A minimum of 40 people is required.  The charter bus will leave the Windom Middle High School parking lot at 9:45am on Saturday, January 6th and arrive prior to the 1:30 start of the double header. Fans will be dropped off at the Target Center door so you won’t have to drive in traffic or figure out parking!
