It’s that time of year again when we all start wondering about what’s to come in the Open Enrollment of our Healthcare Insurance. According to Insurance Agent Jessica Krick the annual period when you can enroll in a private health insurance plan or renew or make changes to current plans Open enrollment for 2024 runs Nov. 1st through Jan. 15th. Krick went onto say, Medicare Open Enrollment is October 15th to December 7th every year. This is the time when people on Medicare can review their current Medicare health plan or Part D plan and compare it with other plans that are available. Any changes you make at this time will take effect on January 1st of the next year. Being informed and meeting deadlines are the most important factor in a smooth transition into the new year for healthcare. Krick encouraged everyone to speak to their insurance representative to get correct and up-to-date information and dates. Krick Insurance on the square in Windom will be offering a MEDICARE OPEN OFFICE EVENT on October 25th from 9-5 for anyone that has questions regarding Medicare enrollment or private individual and family health plans. Appointments aren’t necessary but if you want a guaranteed time call 507-831-3541. Insurance doesn’t have to be hard but with new laws and regulations coming in 2024 it might not hurt to be proactive and get your questions and concerns answered before Open Enrollment comes to a close.

I absolutely love all the kiddos ringing my doorbell and saying TRICK OR TREAT!!! Times have changed but the concept continues to grow with all the different opportunities for the kids to show off their costumes more than at the one hour Halloween Party at school or on Halloween Night if it isn’t 40 below and kids are all wrapped up in snowsuits!!! I really don’t want to mention this, but I have to, because it’s just how I am- equal time and report what I know without intention of being bias. Today is National Transfer Money to your son Day… Personally, I like the transfer money to your daughter day but I suppose what’s good for the goose is good for the gander. I just home my sons aren’t listening today!!! I did find it interesting that today is also International Day for Failure. It’s just another day of the same oh same BUT today I can embrace and celebrate my failures. They say misery loves company maybe that saying came to play because of this day!!! It’s National M & M Day too so I say, let’s all just reflect and eat as many M&M’s as we want and walk away from this Friday the 13th with a positive vibe!!!
