Jackson County Sheriff’s Office reported on the 13th dispatch transferred a 911 report to the MN State Patrol of a group of 6 motorcycles travelling on I-90 near Jackson that were travelling at varying speeds and were intentionally not letting other vehicles pass them. And also transferred a call concerning a SUV that was all over the road on MN 60 near Heron Lake. Deputies investigated a possible Domestic Abuse No Contact Order in Jackson. Deputies conducted Severe Weather Watch after the Sioux Falls National Weather Service issued a Tornado Warning for Northcentral Jackson County. Radar indicated rotation was observed a couple miles north of Lakefield moving northeast at 20 mph. An update from NWS indicated the storm was still capable of producing a tornado in the Kilen Woods area. By the time the storm reached the Bergen/Fish Lake area, the NWS stated it had dissipated and was no longer capable of producing a tornado. There were no reports of damage in these areas.

The Minnesota Dept of Natural Resources is trying to gather input through the end of the State Fair on the consideration of a catch and release season change for Bass.
With this change it would allow year-round fishing. The MNDNR Bass Tech Team wants as much input as possible. Information and the questionnaire are available on the DNR Website. The Windom Area Chamber of Commerce has scheduled the Annual Shred It Event. Thursday September 14th Chamber Business Partner appointments will be open from 3 to 5 and the public is welcome to shred from 5-7pm. The Shred Event will take place at Schwalbach Ace Hardware Parking Lot, located at 193 9th Street in Windom. Cost is 40 per pound for Chamber Members with a minimum charge of $5. For non-chamber members it is 50 cents per pound. There will be a limit of 5 boxes per resident vehicle. To schedule your appointment contact the Windom Chamber Office at 507-831-2752. Jackson Days Parade is Wednesday August 16th at 6:30pm. The Parade Route starts North on Highway 71 one block east to 2nd Street. 2nd Street south to Ashley Street.
