Windom Area Schools had a work session meeting last week. During the meeting, the Windom Board of Education received an overview of the school district’s STAR goals. For the 2022-2023 district STAR Math goal, students in grades 1-11 had a spring 2023 goal of 72% of students in the “at or above” category, and the district missed that goal scoring 68.8%.
In the Windom Elementary School, they had a STAR math goal for spring of 2023 of 78.2% of students in the “at or above” category, they did not meet their goal scoring 77.5%. Windom Middle School had their spring 2023 STAR Math goal of 67.6% of students in the “at or above” category, they missed that goal scoring 57.3%. Windom High School had their spring 2023 STAR Math goal of 66.2% of students in the “at or above” category, they did not meet their math goal scoring 64.8%. The Bridges assessment math goal for spring 2023 was 44% of students in the “on target” category, they did meet their goal scoring 68.1%.
For the STAR reading goal, the Windom School District had a 2023 spring goal of students in K-11 of 49% in the ‘at or above” category, the district missed their goal scoring 42.5%
Windom Elementary had their spring 2023 STAR reading goal of 54.3% of students in the “at or above” category, they did meet that goal scoring 55.4%. Windom Middle School had their spring 2023 STAR reading goal of 52.6% of students in the “at or above” category, they missed their goal scoring 37.8%. Windom High School had their spring 2023 STAR reading goal of 39.5% of students in the “at or above” category, they did not meet their goal scoring 32.6%. The Bridges assessment reading goal for spring 2023 was 58% of students in the “on target” category, they did meet their goal scoring 74.5%.

Once they receive the feasibility study in a few weeks, Mueller says they’ll have more information to start the financing side of the project so they can hopefully move forward with the hotel project in Mountain Lake.
