The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources encourages people to enjoy the outdoors this 4th of July, but to be safe while doing so. The DNR recommends packing smart-bring sunscreen, insect repellant, a first aid kit, and enough water for the duration of being outside for everyone in your group. If you’ll be on the water this 4th of July, the DNR says their major boat safety advice is to wear a life jacket, especially for children. And lastly, make sure to be aware of the weather, that includes checking the weather before heading outside and while you’re outside, especially if you’re traveling far from home.
