Riverfest 2023 in Windom was last weekend. All in all, Riverfest was a success this year even though the Windomnet Medallion wasn’t found by the Friday, June 9th 4pm deadline and the Riverfest parade had to the cancelled. The Windomnet Medallion was located under a pine tree by the east water tower and the parade had to be cancelled due to the weather.

At this point, the EDA of Windom doesn’t know what Premium Iowa Pork’s plans are for the facility, but Lamb says the EDA is cautiously optimistic that the facility will be reopened under the Premium Iowa Pork brand.

Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office reported 57 calls in the week of June 5th to June 11th. Deputies conducted 13 Civil Processes, had 3 animal calls and 11 traffic stops.

On June 6th, 2023, at approximately 7:24am, a Cottonwood County Deputy made contact a 39-year-old male at Island Park. The male was in his RV and had a warrant out of Brown County for felony terroristic threats. The male was arrested without incident and was transported to the intersection of County Road 1 and Brown County 17 where they met a Brown County deputy after his warrant was confirmed.
Windom Area Health is having a special governing board meeting on Thursday, June 15th at noon in the large conference room. On the agenda is the proposed funding for the medical office building.
The city of Fulda has issued an alert. Fulda will be spraying for mosquitoes either Tuesday or Wednesday depending on the weather.
