On May 26th and May 31st The US Bankruptcy Court of the District of Delaware approved bidders in an auction for Hylife Foods in Windom.. Premium Iowa Pork LLC was awarded the bid for the Hylife Windom Facility, its real estate, furniture, fixtures and equipment. Also approved was AgriSwine Alliance Inc as the winning bid for Feeder pigs and hogs owned by Canwin Farms LLC., a subsidiary of Hylife Foods.
The Windom Police Department reported that in the month of May they had 551 total calls for service which included 6 Adult Arrests, 4 Juvenile Arrest, 2 warrants served, 4 accidents with 1 injury, 2 DUI’s and 133 Traffic Violations or Warnings. There were 30 suspicious activity calls and 66 public assists.

The monthly weather statistics have been reported for the city of Windom in May. The information is compiled by a local weather observer and reported to the National Weather Service Office in Sioux Falls. May was a little cooler than normal this year with 12 days in the 80s-most of those coming in the last third of the month. The highest temperature was 88 degrees on May 31st. The low temperature for the month was 34 degrees on May 3rd. In 2022 the high temperature was 96 with a low for the month of 35 degrees. 4.85 inches of precipitation was recorded which is a third of an inche (.33 inches) more for the month than last year and the yearly total is just over three inches more than was recorded in 2022.
The Windom Community Center, Lake Crystal Coaches and the Minnesota Twins have partnered together to provide an all-inclusive trip to see the Minnesota Twins on Thursday, June 22nd when they play the Boston Red Sox, first pitch is set for 12:10pm. Cost is $105 which includes a Twins Ticket and a 10-dollar credit at the Twins Concession Stands. Lake Crystal Coaches will provide transportation to and from the game. They’ll depart from the Windom Community Center at 9am and return to Windom at 7:30pm. You’ll be dropped off and picked up at Gate 14 outside of Target Field. The Miss Riverfest Pageant and Little Miss Riverfest pageant starts this year’s annual Riverfest summer celebration in Windom this evening. Doors open at 6:30pm and the pageant starts at 7pm at the Business, Arts, & Recreation Center auditorium. Seating is general admission with some seats reserved for the families of the contestants. You can buy tickets in advance for $7 at the Business, Arts, & Recreation Center office or for $8 at the door.
The City of Windom Staff, Planning Commission and Bolton & Menk consultants have reviewed and drafted proposed revisions to Chapters 151 & 152 of the City Code. A Public Hearing has been scheduled for Tuesday, June 6th, at 6:30pm at Windom City Hall to discuss these changes.
