Mountain Lake Police Department reported nine calls from May 15th to the 21st. Officers took a report of a stolen credit card, assisted another agency with a possible domestic with weapon, handled a report of a possible harassment, and dealt with a trespassing report. Mt Lake Officers also conducted a civil standby, cited a driver for driving after revocation, assisted another agency with a traffic stop, took a report of stolen property and investigated a report of a juvenile with a Vape.

Jackson County Sheriff’s Office reported on the 23rd they responded at 12:30am to a report of a counterfeit $100 bill used at Super America on I-90 in Jackson. This matter remains under investigation. Later in the afternoon a deputy responded to a report of a vehicle in Jack Creek south of Heron Lake in Weimer Township. The driver accidentally hit the gas while parking to fish in Jack Creek which caused the vehicle to slide into the creek. Deputies are out and about and keeping their eyes open and issued an “I GOT CAUGHT” voucher for a free Dairy Queen ice cream cone for wearing a helmet while riding a scooter. The Advocate-Connect-Educate of Southwest Minnesota will be hosting a Care Giver Support Group on Tuesday May 30th at 1pm in the BARC Library. According to A.C.E. Support groups area safe place for Caregivers to meet and develop a mutual support system. It is a place to exchange practical information on caregiving problems and solutions, talk through challenges, share your feelings, and find ways to cope. Anyone is welcome, and they encourage you to come and go as your schedule permits. The Windom American Legion Auxiliary selected the winners of the 3rd Annual Second Grade Coloring Contest. There were 88 pictures entered in the Contest and are now on display at Johnson Hardware, Muske, Muske & Surhoff, and McDonald’s for National Poppy Day, Friday May 26th. The winners received a free ice cream cone from Dairy Queen and a Poppy Coloring Book from the Windom Legion Auxiliary. All 88 participants received a coupon from McDonalds as well as a Poppy Bookmark and a cookie from the Windom Legion Auxiliary. Winners of 2nd Grade coloring contest were:
