News from City of Fulda: The Fulda Area Lakes Trails Group has a vision and a mission. the Group’s objective is to have hard-surfaced paths for walking, running and biking along U.S. 59 and in other areas in and around Fulda.
In 2021, a committee was formed by the Fulda EDA to review the idea and establish a team to work on the project. Countless hours of research, as well as meetings with other towns that have achieved success with trails, have been taken on by Group members. They have connected with other entities and gained letters of support from school, city, township, county and state officials. Favorable opinions have been expressed by property owners, community residents and various agencies.
Options are being explored as to routes, funding, and development phases.
To achieve success, the Group knows support from area residents is vital. They are asking for participation in a simple survey to gather community responses. The survey can be found on the City of Fulda website at www.fuldamn.com. Printed copies are also available at Fulda City Hall, Fulda Pool, Fulda Public Library and Mane Attraction. Filled out surveys can be dropped off at Fulda City Hall.
Posters with a QR code leading directly to the online survey are available throughout the community.
For more information, or to be involved in future discussions about the trail, contact Gary Hogan at 507-360-4481 or email fuldalakes@gmail.com.
