Windom Police Department reported on the 21st at approximately 7pm officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident. A 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 1992 Ford Explorer were located in the 300 block of 16th Street. A Windom Female who was driving the Jeep indicated that she hit a patch of ice and overcorrected which caused her to hit the parked Ford. After further investigation an arrest was made of the 30-year-old Windom female for Driving while Intoxicated, a Gross Misdeameanor pending review by the County Attorney’s Office.  No injuries were reported but there was major damage to both vehicles. On the 22nd just after Midnight, an officer while on patrol in the City of Windom in a fully marked squad car was at a stop sign on 15th Ave and Highway 60 observed a vehicle traveling Southbound on Highway 60 with its bright lights turned on. The officer followed the vehicle and observed suspicious driving, weaving within the lane and made a traffic stop on Highway 60 South. After further investigation, an arrest was made of a 46-year-old male from Shakopee for Gross Misdemeanor DWI pending review by the County Attorney’s Office.

The Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office reported 62 calls from January 15th to the 21st. Deputies tended to nine vehicles off the road, four traffic stops, served one warrant, had 15 Civil Processes and two motorist assists. The Murray County Board of Commissioners will start their regular meeting at  8:30 this morning. At 9:30am they will have a work session to discuss the Museum and Museum Capital Improvement Projects in the Murray County Government Center.
