The first pickup for Cottonwood County residents recycling bins will be TODAY!!! If you live on Highway 60 to west of River to 13th Street and down- Good Samaritan Area you need to have your containers out and ready to be picked up. According to Donna at the Landfill, if containers are not out and available by 7am on your pickup day there will be a charge for missing bins. The Cottonwood County Sheriffs Office reported there were 45 total calls for the week of December 11th through the 17th. They had 6 traffic stops, two vehicle off road assists, 9 civil processes, assisted other agencies 4 times and dealt with two suspicious activities. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office reported four separate calls involving vehicles on the 18th. At 11:42 am a vehicle in the median on 1-90, at 12:58pm a deputy assisted the MN State Patrol with a report of cattle falling out of a semi-trailer and blocking traffic on 1-90 near Heron Lake exit. At 1:58pm a report of road rage on MN 60 near Heron Lake was reported to the MN State Patrol. A semi driver reported that the driver of a car in front of him will not let him pass by blocking the passing lane and then pumping their brakes. And at 4:38pm received a call about a motorist on 1-90 where the driver reported their gas gauge must not be working because it was showing 3/4 of a tank but they were out of gas.

Cottonwood County Board of Commissioners TODAY at 9am at the Cottonwood County Courthouse. The Commission will go into closed session at the end of the meeting to discuss upcoming litigation on FSG Ag Acquisition Company LLC vs Cottonwood County.

The Jackson County Board of Commissioners and the Drainage Authority will be meeting this morning at 9am in the Jackson County Courthouse in the Commissioners Board Room. At the end of the meeting the Commissioners will go into closed session for a performance Evaluation of the County Administrator.
