Coyotes of HLO-F were looking for a home victory while MLA-C was getting their season started on the road.
The wolverines were at a disadvantage from the start as HLO-F, an already very good team, was 3 games into the season while the Wolverines were stepping on the court for the first time. To make things even tougher, the Wolverines leading scorer (Carter Olsen) and leading rebounder (Ashton Toll) were less than a week removed from a State Championship runner up finish with the Springfield football team so they started the game on the bench.
HLO-F jumped out to a big lead early, and never really looked back. The first half was mainly the Wolverines trying to play catch up and get their feet under them. The difference between a team on their 4 game, vs a team on their 1st was clear.
In the second half you could see the Wolverines start to put some things together. Started to get in a rhythm, but the Coyotes were already in control. Good win for HLO-F, would expect them to see a different team come Feburary when these two meet again!
Senior Sawyer Drent led the way for the Coyotes with 31 points! Logan Hattendorf finished with 19. The Coyotes have many weapons who can score from anywhere on the court. They will be very fun to watch this season!
MLA-C will complete a back-to-back tonight against St. James. Coverage will be on Hot Country 94.3 as tip off is scheduled for around 7:30!
