The Windom Eagles took on the Jackson County Huskies on Tuesday night on the road in Jackson
The first half was pretty evenly matched up as the lead changed hands no more than four times but the deficit was only by 2 or 3 at one time. Jackson went on a substantial run to come back from trailing 28-31 to take the lead at halftime. The Eagles went into the half only trailing by 1 as the scoreboard read a 32-31 lead for Jackson. The Eagles were lead in scoring by Hadley Sammons who had 9 points Alivia Letcher had 8 pts, Tristan Maras Hannah Dauer and Kameron Rupp ended the first half with 4, and Madi Hogan got on the board with 2 points. The Huskies were led by Maci Farmer who ended the half with 19 points Kylee Wenzel had 5, Rylie Cother, Brylee Anderson, Madelyn Rowe and Payton Coquyt all contributed 2.
The second half started with the Eagles with the ball and it was a back-and-forth affair with the lead changing hands just as many times as the first half but this time the Eagles took more of the leads and increasing the lead by 5 at one point. Early in the half Kameron Rupp who was wearing a knee brace after a ACL/MCL combo tear last season went up for a rebound and came down hard on her other leg and exited the match for the rest of the night. The Eagles didn’t let that affect them as they held off the huskies for most of the second half but unfortunately in the later stages of the ball game the Huskies went on a 14-point run and started to pull away for a 10-point victory and when the final horn rang out through the gym the Huskies won the match 74-64. The Eagles were led in scoring by Alivia Letcher who ended the game with 22 points, Hadley Sammons ended the game with 12 pts, Hannah Dauer ended the game with 11, Tristyn Maras 10, Kameron Rupp 4, Anja Neilson 3 and Madi Hogan with 2.
