The Windom Police Department reported there was a Damage to Property report on the 10th. A Windom Resident in the 1000 block of Collins Ave contacted the police department about someone putting Mustard on the side of the house. An officer went to the residence and looked at the TP’ing and also witnessed mustard and apple sauce on the side of the residence. The officer informed the homeowner to contact the Police Office if there was actual damage caused. Information was passed onto the School Resource Officer. Also on the 10th officers handled a single car no injury accident at the Windom Elementary School parking lot, and took a report of a runaway juvenile at 11:17pm. On the morning of the 11th at 8:08am the child had returned home.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office reported on the 10th at 5:50am The Lake Park Fire Depart, Lakefield Fire Department, and Lakefield Ambulance were called back to the scene of yesterday’s machine shed fire east of Round Lake. The fire rekindled and started a building on fire and then at 6:15 pm Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at the EconLodge in Jackson. The matter remains under investigation.

Mountain Lake is looking toward the future with expectations of starting a new search for a new full-time Economic Development Authority Director. On the 3rd of October, at the Mt Lake City Council meeting the Council was informed that Rob Anderson, EDA Director who was placed on unpaid leave of absence at the end of September, had signed a separation agreement with the city that allowed him to retire from his position immediately. Anderson’s position at the time of his separation was a part-time EDA Director and part-time Chamber of Commerce Director

The Windom Area Health Wellness Center is sponsoring a Spooky Coloring Contest! Everyone from 0- 110 is eligible and encouraged to participate. It’s easy, go to www.windomareahealth.org/coloring-contest/  There are four different age groups 0-5, 6-10, 11-15 and 16 and older. Print your age groups picture and get busy coloring. You can stay in the lines or not, it is your picture to color as you wish. When you have completed coloring and put on the perfect touches you can drop your finished  creation off at one of the screening stations at Windom Area Health or you can scan or take a picture of the finished product and e-mail to Lindsey.Englar@WindomAreaHealth.org  All artwork MUST be turned in no later than November 4th.

The Des Moines Valley Health and Human Services Board Meeting will be held on Thursday October 13th at 9am in the Cottonwood County Law Enforcement Center located at 902 5th Ave #1, Windom.
