Summer Theater is HERE!
Twenty-nine , youth (2nd to 7th grade) from Mountain Lake Area are participating and getting ready to perform the Wizard of Oz sponsored by Prairie Fire Children’s Theater & Mountain Lake Community Education. They’ve been rehearsing and will be ready to perform this Friday at 2 pm and Saturday at 2 pm at the Mt. Lake Alliance Church. This activity was made possible with Grants from the Remick Foundation and Mountain Lake Area Foundation. This is Open to the public. Tickets are $5 for Adults and $2 for Children (K-12).
On a personal note… Some of my fondest memories are from when my boys were young and doing Children’s Theater. What a confidence builder it is for children to get on the stage and perform! If you want some good wholesome entertainment that has stars as bright and eager to shine, THIS is the place to go to get your smile on!!!

The 4H activities and exhibits are in full swing today at the Cottonwood County Fair. If the opportunity to see all the hard work local 4-Hers have put in preparing for the fair isn’t enough reason to stop by, the 4-H food stand is! Its open all day today until 10pm tonight. Crystal Reath, the Cottonwood County 4-H coordinator is keeping us updated on the schedule of events for tomorrow and what’s on the menu at the 4-H food stand, which is the major fundraiser for the program:
The fair continues through the weekend at the Cottonwood County fairgrounds.

I want to take a minute to thank all the people that worked the Voting Polls on Tuesday. I just love the fact that we live in a free country that allows each of us to choose to exercise our rights to vote. I had the privilege to work the polls on Tuesday with some very wonderful people. What a great day to be an American and a part of the little City that would. It never ceases to amaze me the dedication, energy and time that it takes to hold an election. I tip my hat to everyone involved.
