The Business, Arts and Recreation Center- BARC, located at 1012 5th Avenue in downtown Windom will host its Annual Community Block Party, Annual Meeting and Silent Auction on Monday July 18th. Picnic will be from 5-7pm with Burgers and Brats, chips, baked beans, beverage and cookie all for a free-will donation. The Annual meeting will begin approximately at 7:05. Silent Auction will be accepting bids Noon to 5:30 on Wednesday the 13th-through Friday the 15th and from 9am to approximately 8pm on Monday the 18th. Bidding closes following the Annual meeting. Winners not present will be notified by phone starting on Tuesday. BARC’s Mission is to develop and sustain a positive environment for arts, education, recreation and business. BARC offers a gathering space for activities and events in the Windom area and the southwest region of Minnesota. Windom Police Department reported on the 8th of July at 4:56pm Windom PD assisted State Patrol with accident no injuries on Hwy 60 and 71 North.
On the 9th at approximately 7pm an Officer met with a Windom Female resident reference issues with her child at home. Report was taking and sent to Family Services. Then at approximately 10pm Windom Police were advised of an alarm at Family Dollar. Key Holder was called to the scene.
On the 10th Windom Police Department reported three calls. Officer was called to the Central part of town for a theft of tools out of the back of a truck parked at a residence. Case is pending the theft report. An Officer was requested at the intersection of Cottonwood Lake Dr. and 24th St. A witness saw a vehicle turning around in the intersection and backed into the street sign. Street Department was notified of the damaged sign. And early evening Officers met with Windom female resident about neighbor dog issue. Report was taken.
