Windom Police Department reported on March 1st, Officers went to Toro to take a theft report of a plastic bander valued at approximately $4,000. The bander is a handheld, battery operated Polychem B1000. The Bander was noticed missing on February 21st. After investigation, the tool was found in the 1100 block of 4th Ave and an arrest was made of a 51-year old Windom Male for Felony Theft, pending review by the County Attorney’s Office.
Also an arrest was made of a 20-year Windom Male for a Misdemeanor Warrant out of Cottonwood County for Windom Police Department charges in a 2020 DWI case along with possible new charges of 5th degree controlled substance possession.

The Cottonwood County Sheriffs Office received a report on March 1st of a theft of Converters from Millner Sellner in Bingham Lake. Three vehicles had converters cut off and taken and another vehicle it was partially cut off. Estimates of the Damage/Replacements is undetermined at this time.

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison announced today that he has joined a nationwide investigation into TikTok for providing and promoting its social-media platform to children and young adults while use is associated with physical and mental-health harms. He is part of a nationwide coalition of attorneys general who are examining whether the company violated state consumer protection laws that put the public at risk.
The investigation is focused, among other things, on the techniques TikTok utilized to boost engagement among young users, including increasing the duration of time spent on the platform and frequency of engagement with the platform.
Leading the TikTok investigation is a bipartisan coalition of attorneys general from California, Florida, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Nebraska, New Jersey, Tennessee, and Vermont. They are joined by a broad group of attorneys general from across the country, including Attorney General Ellison.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is seeking public input via an online survey regarding 2021 deer populations and observations. The survey includes questions about experiences hunters had during the deer hunting season; issues related to damage deer might do to crops, landscaping or gardens; and other deer-related issues.
